TEAM TT
Good leadership and followship by our team to get to the line in time.
The most important thing about the time trial is not what your time or place was. The most important question is this.... "what did I learn!".
Regarding results, a few things merit consideration:
> How was my summer training consistency?
> How well did I prep for this race physically/mentally?
> How did I do with pacing?
> Sometimes you have good and bad days

DOG LOOP TEMPOS
Several things to learn, both for the coaches and especially for the athletes.
Good effort as we start workouts and learn the feel of tempo running.
Some of you will run faster than your projected season 5K race result. Some not as fast. The projections are averages and are meant to supply very EARLY estimated data.
How you sleep and fuel your body will be a huge factor in how fast your eventually run.
The results look very promising! Top 7 guys and girls faster than last year's team who placed 1st and 3rd at state! Both squads top 7 projected PR average is faster than any team run in 19 years of school history.

20 MIN TEMPO #1
Goal was to run a tempo effort (comfortably hard) and increase effort (and if possible pace) each 5 minutes.
Data is provided at the link for same workout exactly 1 year prior.
THE WEST WAY
Our team first vibe means everything to WFHSXC. We will celebrate every runner's journey towards finding their best self.
We will strive for team excellence at all levels. Varsity & JV both matter. Each person matters.
We can be both very good friends and very good runners all at the same time. Pursuit of team friendly culture and championship level performance are not mutually exclusive goals but are instead symbiotic
We aspire to be a team that can have fun and compete with the best. We will do both.
