2026 COACH WOOD WOMEN

OUR BEST RACE DAY IN 2026!

> We rebounded nicely off a Monday workout that went sideways.

> Several PRs and seasonal best times.  Thank goodness for the chilly weather!

> If you ran great, don't forget to celebrate!   Every good race should bring joy (and bad races can be joyful too put into larger scale perspective)

EVERY RACE IS A CHANCE TO LEARN ABOUT THE SPORT AND YOU AS AN ATHLETE

> Check out splits below. For a typical PR type race the first and last mile are about :10 faster than the middle mile.

> How'd your splits look?  Compare the #s to how you were feeling each mile.  Engaged?  Drift off?  Too much too soon?  Not enough?

> Were you picking up places late or losing them?   Why do you think that was?   Fitness?  Strategy?  Attitude?  Effort?

HOW DID WE DO?

> Girl's varsity is on a nice improvement trend.  We are coming good right when it matters.  Coaches feel GREAT about this team!

> Missed some PRs in the top JV ranks in '26.   I suspect our team could use a few more miles or cross training to improve.  Stay tuned.

> If you want to improve at running, best thing you can do is run consistently, 48 of 52 weeks a year.   Running is great for your mental health too!

> Hope you are excited about Mile Madness.  Maybe the most fun thing our team does each year.  Don't miss it!
