2026 CECIL FIELD  WOMEN

> It was super hot, which made racing hard, but it was hard for everyone and hard isn't bad.   We thrive on challenges.

> Heat and humidity factor impacted 5K race times about 1 minute for later races, 2 minutes for early ones.

> Varsity girls were in about 25th place in team score at the mile.  They ran forward to 10th.  699 pts to 367!

> Both JV races saw team scorers improving their position after the 1 mile

> 7 athletes hit the letter standard of sub 23:00.  WAY MORE TO COME!

> Thank Eli for doing the lonely 1 mile split camera duty so you have split info

> Congrats to all the athletes who ran their 1st high school 5K cross country race!  You got a good lesson in being resilient.

> SLEEP IS A CHEAT CODE!   Want to run better?  Make school easier?  Just be in a better mood?   SLEEP MORE

> EAT MORE!   3 meals plus snacks (banana, squeeze apple sauce, PB&J, chocolate milk before bed)

> Protein.   Carbs.  Iron rich foods + vitamin C.   Calcium rich foods + vitamin D.

> Vitamin D is very helpful for bone health, boosting immune system and mental health.

> Drink not only water but fluids with sodium, potassium and magnesium.  Have headaches?  This could be your cure!
