When you have coached 10 guys who have run under 45 seconds for the quarter, including the world record holder, you know a thing or ten.  His approach seems to be about doing more work with shorter rest intervals than focusing  primarily on lots of all out sprinting.   In short, if you get stronger, you get faster.

A little science and one man's opinion on how to run the best possible quarter.   In short, sprint the first 60-80M.   Relax, maintain speed and glide through 250M, hitting the 200M split a little over a second slower than your 200M best.   Then kick, pray and hold on to the finish
