TOP 2023 800M TRACK RETURNERS

THIS IS HOW THE BEST OF THE BEST PERFORMED LAST YEAR

Region 6-7A is wide open on the girl's side.  For guys it likely takes 1:56 to qualify for sectionals.

Guys sectional has 11 of the top 15 returners.  For girls, 8.

Athletes with grade highlighted in blue are unlikley to run 800M at region & will focus on 16/32/4X800M

For 4X800M relay, West guys ranked 2nd, girls 3rd based upon returning athletes open PRs (relay splits excluded.

You need to run sub 2:02 guys and sub 2:30 girls to make a quality 4X800M relay team/score region points

Athletes who focus on the 800M only infrequently podium in XC and some top 800M runners don't run XC at all.
